QOTD: How was your October?⁣ ⁣ Did you find an QOTD: How was your October?⁣
⁣
Did you find any new favorites?⁣
⁣
I can’t believe October is over, and we’re already 3 days into November. This year is flying by!⁣
⁣
I dipped my toes in audiobooks last month and kinda got hooked.⁣
⁣
It’s just so nice to be able to listen to books while I’m working on brainless tasks. 😅⁣
⁣
I thought I’d get distracted, but I haven’t. Or least I wasn’t while I was listening to romance novels - I tried listening to a fantasy audiobook while working, and it didn’t go as well.⁣

QOTD: Do you collect special editions?⁣ ⁣ I do QOTD: Do you collect special editions?⁣
⁣
I don’t exactly collect them since I try to limit myself to one copy of each book due to limited shelf space.⁣
⁣
But I do usually end up choosing to buy the special edition copy over the standard edition, especially if the prices are comparable.⁣
⁣
It’s just that sometimes I prefer the original cover over the exclusive one.⁣
⁣
Honestly, if there wasn’t a bonus short story included, I might have bought the normal hardcover of One for My Enemy instead of this exclusive B&N edition. 😅⁣
⁣
What are some of your favorite extras included in special editions?⁣

QOTD: Why do you read?⁣ ⁣ I definitely mainly QOTD: Why do you read?⁣
⁣
I definitely mainly read to escape reality.⁣
⁣
Throwback to when I was inspired to make cover recreations and other bookish photoshop edits.⁣
⁣
If you need a Halloween costume, a pair of boots and a leather jacket will take you far. Just add a book/character specific prop or decoration, and you’re good to go - just look at how many times it shows up here. 😅⁣
⁣
Will you be dressing up for Halloween? If you are, who/what are you going as?⁣

QOTD: Do you have a favorite vampire book/series?⁣
⁣
One of my favorites will always be the Night World series.⁣
⁣
It’s the first vampire book I can remember reading and I’ll always have a soft spot for it, even if the series is never fully published.⁣
⁣
I’ve been waiting for the last book in the series for close to 15 years, but I know some people have been waiting for almost twice as long - the latest book was first published in 1998.⁣
⁣
How long are you willing to wait for the next book in a series?⁣

QOTD: How is your October going so far?⁣ ⁣ I c QOTD: How is your October going so far?⁣
⁣
I can’t believe we’re already more than halfway through the month.⁣
⁣
I barely had time to update my reading journal for September and now I feel like I’m scrambling to add October.⁣
⁣
I’ve definitely been kind of slacking off. 😅⁣

QOTD: What kind of books do you like to read in au QOTD: What kind of books do you like to read in autumn?⁣
⁣
I’m trying to get through some of the more “seasonal” reads from my physical tbr this month.⁣
⁣
It’s not going so well because all my of Libby holds decided to come in at the same time, so I’m trying to read them all before they’re due.⁣
⁣
But I have this weird idea of seasonal, and my brain gets attached to thinking of them that way. And it’s a constant struggle to read them in the “correct” season, or else I’ll have to wait until next year, if that makes sense.⁣
Like Dating & Dismemberment is a cozy monster romance, so my brain sees it and screams “autumn” and “Halloween” but in reality, the world won’t end if I read it next spring.⁣
⁣
But for some reason, my brain thinks it’s wrong, lol.⁣
⁣
Are you a seasonal reader?⁣

QOTD: Do you prefer character driven or plot drive QOTD: Do you prefer character driven or plot driven books?⁣
⁣
It depends on my mood, but usually I prefer plot driven books.⁣
⁣
But the best ones are a good mix of both.⁣
⁣
I feel like Masters of Death found a good balance between characters development and plot of intrigue, but ending was a little disappointing.⁣
⁣
Still, I would read a spin off about the characters and whatever they’re up to afterwards.⁣
⁣
Do you prefer standalone or series?⁣
