Surviving the First Month of 2017

I decided to change things up and try out monthly recaps instead of weekly ones, which I’m now calling ‘State of the Blog’. I’m linking this one up to two memes: Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. 🙂

Looking Back on January

January came and went so so quickly. I feel like I blinked and the month was already over. Maybe it’s because I spent half the month on break and the other half getting back into the demands of school.

January has been an eventful month. Not only did it mark President Obama’s last weeks as president, it also proved the 2017 might not be much better than 2016.

Besides that, I tried to get back into blogging and did so successfully before I ran out of time. 🙁 I definetly need to find a more efficent way to blog.

That being said, the whole “ran out of time” thing might be beause I spent a good amount of time reading. Oh, and dedicating an enitre weekend to watch the U.S. Figure Skating Championships…

  1. Ever since I was little, I have loved watching figure skating. It’s so graceful and magical. I am also falling into the “just let me read” phase, and reviews are piling up. It just makes me want to avoid and read more!

    • Figure skating is definitely one of the more graceful and magical sports out there. But it’s also one of the most nail-biting and infuriating sports. It relies on the opinions of judges and the ice is so slippery, anything can happen.

My phase is kind of ending. Which is both a good and bad thing. I have exams coming up so I cannot afford getting caught up in a book. But on the other hand, reading would certainly help lower my stress levels. It’s a neverending cycle. 🙁

Thank you for stopping by Charlie! I hope you had a great weekend. 🙂

  2. Congrats on the win! And I love those BelVita’s ha ha- the blueberry kind. I used to get them all the time. Hope you have a good february. I do republish old posts occasionally, especially older ones that haven’t seen a lot of views…

    • Thank you, Greg! I love blueberry BelVita – they’re the best on the go “breakfast”.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. 🙂

  3. Haha! Choosing between reading, blogging, or watching T.V. is always such a struggle for me. I hope 2017 gets better! I feel like it’s so stressful since the president changed. Good luck in the new semester!

    • At the rate we’re going, 2017 can only get better on a personal level and not a national or global one. Our dear “POTUS” sure as heck is making life stressful. Especially given the fact that I’ll graduate from college only a few months after his first (and hopefully only) term is over.

Thanks for stopping by Amy! I hope you had a great weekend despite all the politics. 🙂
