QOTD: Do you get FOMO for books?⁣ ⁣ I thought I ou QOTD: Do you get FOMO for books?⁣
⁣
I thought I outgrew it in college, and that might be true for social settings, but I definitely still get it when it comes to books.⁣
⁣
Whether it’s pre-order incentives or limited exclusive editions, it’s so hard for me to resist pre-ordering.⁣
⁣
Which is an issue since I rarely actually read the books I pre-order. 😅⁣
⁣
The marketing around “first print run only” is so good at making me panic buy books. But after Iron Flame, I’m a little more jaded about those editions, especially after the Wing & Claw editions came out.⁣
⁣
So I’m still debating if I should pre-order Threshing Day.⁣
⁣
On one hand, I really love Fourth Wing. On the other, I still have to read my pre-ordered copy of Onyx Storm…⁣
⁣
Are you looking forward to any upcoming releases?⁣

QOTD: Do you watch any sports?⁣ ⁣ I don’t usually QOTD: Do you watch any sports?⁣
⁣
I don’t usually watch any, but I’ll always tune in for the NFL season.⁣
⁣
American football is weirdly the only major sport in the US where I can watch a game without having to lookup the rules.⁣
⁣
So naturally, it’s also the one sport I don’t really enjoy reading sports romances about.⁣
⁣
It’s just that I know too much so it gets annoying when authors sometimes mess up aspects of the game or take too many creative liberties with it.⁣
⁣
That said, Fumbled by Alexa Martin, a second chance sports romance about a single mom and a tight end, is one of my favorite comfort reads.⁣
⁣
Do you have any favorite sports romances?⁣

Are you more of an optimist or a pessimist? I did Are you more of an optimist or a pessimist?

I didn't finish any books in August and was trying to look on the bright side thinking that it'll at least make it easier to update my reading journal.

Nope.

Not really.

Sure, some portions of it got easier, but it also made other parts harder, or at least more annoying to update.

I spent about the same amount of time and energy updating the trackers as I do every month.

[Video description: journal with me as I complete my monthly update of the trackers in my reading journal, while discussing whether reading zero books made it easier to update each one.]
QOTD: Do you read backlist titles?⁣ ⁣ I love a goo QOTD: Do you read backlist titles?⁣
⁣
I love a good backlist title, even the ones that are... products of their time.⁣
⁣
I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh was first published.⁣
⁣
I stumbled upon it randomly while browsing through the available ebooks on Libby. Read the sample and I was hooked!⁣
⁣
15 books later, the Psy-Changeling series is one of the longest book series I read and finished in my entire life. Which just goes to show how good the books are since I’m normally terrible at finishing trilogies, let alone a 10+ book series.⁣
⁣
How do you find books to read?⁣

QOTD: How was your August?⁣ ⁣ Mine was kind of str QOTD: How was your August?⁣
⁣
Mine was kind of stressful, not going to lie.⁣
⁣
I just had a lot going on. It’s was kind of a shock to going from hermit introvert life to having lots of plans with lots of people. 😅⁣
⁣
And it seems like I’m still stuck in my reading slump, which was kind of expected, tbh.⁣
⁣
When I’m stressed or super busy, I tend to either read a lot or not at all.⁣
⁣
And last month it was more in the not at all category. 🙈⁣
⁣
Are you looking forward to anything this month?⁣

QOTD: What are your favorite scents?⁣ ⁣ I can be r QOTD: What are your favorite scents?⁣
⁣
I can be really sensitive to smell - walking past the perfume counter at a department store can trigger a headache like no other.⁣
⁣
So I tend to prefer more citrussy and woodsy scents since they’re usually safer.⁣
⁣
Immortal Rose is set is a world with magical perfume, which just sounds so intriguing. And since Alex Bracken wrote one of my favorite series of all time (The Darkest Minds), I’m really excited to read it.⁣

QOTD: Do you have a favorite fictional school?⁣ ⁣ QOTD: Do you have a favorite fictional school?⁣
⁣
It’s back to school season where I live. And even though school wasn’t my favorite, I miss all the back to school events and vibes.⁣
⁣
There’s just something special about going school supply shopping, getting your class schedule, and starting a new year.⁣
⁣
Anyways, I’m looking forward to (finally) starting at Calder Academy this semester. 😅⁣
⁣
If you could attend any fictional school, where would you like to go and what would you study?⁣
