So, it’s a little late, but here are 10 books to read on Halloween. Five of them are all horror-ish books you can read to get in spirit if you aren’t going to dress up. The other 5 are to help you keep your sanity from all the horror that is going on around you. Without further adieu and in no particular order, here are 10 books you should read on Halloween, aka TODAY.
The Horror… sort of
Asylum
by Madeline Roux
Because ghosts in an abandoned asylum doesn’t scream horror at all. (No seriously, I DNFed because the ghosts freaked me out).
The Fifth Wave
by Rick Yancey
Oh, you just your typical days of aliens trying to conquer Earth and kill off the human race. Nothing frightening about that.
The Maze Runner
by James Dashner
Okay, so this one is really horror. It just has really scary bio-mechanical monsters and is about a group of teenagers stuck in a maze with them…
Burn for Burn
by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian
Once again, not really a horror. But it does have some subtle elements of horror as the book progresses.
Ten
by Gretchen McNeil
This one really qualifies as a horror. Because being stuck on an island without any communication with the outside world when people are being killed isn’t scary at all…
The Fun Reads
Heist Society
by Ally Carter
Just a book about thieves. Sure, it might have an evil-ish villain, but it also has a lot of humor (from what I remember).
Being Sloane Jacobs
by Lauren Morrill
It’s a book about self discovery in a interesting situation. It has a really cute romance too!
The Art of Lainey
by Paula Stokes
Another contemporary with some more self discovery and a cute romance! 😀
Only Everything
by Kieran Scott
A banished Cupid… has to play cupid in the human world. Yeah, you guessed it, more romance!
Whatever Life Throws at You
by Julie Cross
This one has to do with baseball and teamwork and friendship, and yes, romance.
What do you think?
Will you be reading any tonight?
If not, what are you going to read?
