Review – Where She Went by Gayle Forman
TITLE: Where She Went
AUTHOR: Gayle Forman
SERIES: If I Stay #2
Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes & Noble
RATING: 5 Stars

It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future - and each other.

Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

Review:

Where She Went is the sequel to If I Stay. If you have not already read If I Stay, I highly recommend you do that instead of reading this review. Or you can read my review of If I Stay. This review will contain spoilers for the first book. You have been warned.

Where She Went is told in Adam’s point of view and gives us an insight into Adam’s life after Mia wakes up from her coma. It’s told in the present with some flashbacks that start from before the big accident to where they are now, all from Adam’s memories. Adam’s POV is SO COOL! I actually liked Where She Wentbetter than If I Stay which is kind of saying a lot since I gave If I Stay five stars. I thought Where She WentIf I Stay, if not even more eloquent.

While Where She Went is less emotional than If I Stay, it still got me to shed a few tears and definitely got me even more emotionally invested in Adam’s story. I really felt for Adam and all the hardships he (and Mia) had to go through. I think it’s interesting how much he changed since Mia’s accident. And I liked how the story shows both he and Mia made mistakes and are not perfect people, or even a perfect couple.

When I reached the end, I couldn’t believe it was over. I wanted more! I want to know more about what happened in the three years between If I Stay and Where She Went. I want to know more about what happens afterwards.

In Conclusion…

I loved reading about Adam and Mia again, especially in Adam’s point of view this time. I loved the story and the ending, even though I want more. Overall, Where She Went is a must read if you liked If I Stay – I liked Where She Went better!
