Everyone can reread books anytime, anywhere, but not everyone does…
Some people reread books often reread books. Others rarely do. Tend there are the people in the middle. People like me. Honestly, I don’t really like to reread books. I don’t know why. And it’s different with each book. Sometimes I’ll just keep rereading the same books, while other times, I just can’t reread a book. The books I usually end up rereading are absolute favorites of mine. They also tend to be books that don’t need a cliff hangers (or any other tactics authors use to keep readers engaged) to keep me interested. To me, if I can stand to reread a book, it marks how good that book actually is. Then there are the times when I enjoy reading a book the first time around, but hate it the second time. That brings us to the why…
Why?
According to my friends, I am a pessimist. But I’m usually optimistic when it comes to books. I don’t really like having a negative view of a book, which is also why it is really hard for me to write negative reviews. But that’s a topic for another day. The point is, if I like a book, but feel like I will change my feelings for it if I decide to read it again, then I rather not reread it. So, yes, I don’t reread books often because I’m afraid that if I do, I’ll start hating a book I once loved. That being said, I will however, reread books if I don’t have anything else to do. Although those books, like I stated before have already established their credibility. Books like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson are some of my go to books to be reread over and over again.
