Today, I’m introducing a new feature. It’s going to be called Bookish… well sort of. It really depends. I had a lot of ideas for different features, but I just decided to combine all of them in one. Another name I had for this feature was Book Inspired…
Bookish ____________
That’s the real name of Bookish. Basically the idea is that I’ll fill in the blank as I see fit. For example, if I want to display a baking post inspired by a book, it’ll be Bookish Recipes. If I went somewhere because of a book (or somewhere I went was mentioned in a book) it would be called Bookish Locations. If I was going to create a playlist of songs inspired by a book, it’ll be called Bookish Music. Hopefully, that was clear enough. 🙂
Most Common Bookish
Honestly, I don’t quite know where I’m going with this feature… but here’s a list of Bookish ________ that will probably appear more than once on the blog (in no particular order).
- Bookish Recipes – recipes inspired by a book
- Bookish Food – not to be confused with Bookish Recipes. This will just be displaying food (no recipes
- Bookish Locations – features locations mentioned in books
- Bookish Culture – features culture mentioned in books (this might include interviews / guest posts, but it’s still a work in progress)
- Bookish Music – songs / playlists inspired or mentioned in a book
- Bookish Crafts – crafts inspired by a book
- Bookish Art – art inspired by a book
- Bookish Costumes – this one is important as Halloween is coming around… basically a guide to creating your own costumes based on books
Can’t wait to see what you do with this new feature! I use the word bookish a lot too-it’s such a fun word 😀
I can’t wait for everyone to see it either. 🙂 You’re right bookish is really one fun word.
Thanks for stopping by! 😀
Haha, I’ve done this from the very beginning with my old blog, A Bookish Heart. Every feature I do has Bookish in front of it (Bookish Finds, Bookish Games, Bookish Reviews, Bookish Thoughts, etc.). I’ve even been credited for helping others become comfortable with the word bookish (such as my co-blogger Kelley) who didn’t like it before reading my blog!
Haha, I definitely think that your old blog did help me get a bit more used to and accepting of the word bookish. I originally wanted to name the feature (and all of its sub features?) a different name but sticking bookish in front of everything is just so much easier than giving everything a totally different name.
Thanks for stopping by Asti! 😀
