Mine was AN UNFINISHED MEMORY, which was a reread.⁣
⁣
I have a soft spot for second chance romances, especially if it features a divorced/separated couple.⁣
⁣
But also, it’s not like it had much competition with the other 3 books I read. And I’m still (slowly) working my way through THE WREN IN THE HOLLY LIBRARY.⁣

January was a pretty good month for me personally, but not so much reading wise. 🤷🏻‍♀️⁣

I’m celebrating Lunar New Year tonight with family so we’re having dumplings, fish, and some other traditional Chinese New Year dishes.⁣

I’m currently reading THE WREN IN THE HOLLY LIBRARY and I can’t tell if I’m in a reading slump or if it put me in a slump.⁣
⁣
I’m about 20% in and it’s just been meh so far - not bad, but not great.⁣
⁣
I was really intrigued by the synopsis so hopefully it gets better but right now, it’s going very very slowly.⁣
⁣
I’m normally a pretty quick reader but I’ve just been chipping away at 5 pages a day for the last 20 days.⁣
⁣
Even when I read larger chucks, the story just doesn’t seem to pull me in.⁣
⁣
Which actually isn’t that unusual (I’m a mood reader), except this is my 2nd attempt to read this book. I was forced to DNF it last year when my library book was due before I could finish it, but I wasn’t interested enough to put it on hold again.⁣

I don’t really mind them as along as it’s not mid series or a book/series I own.⁣
⁣
Sometimes, I even celebrate them - like for example, I prefer the currently, more “modern” style of the latest cover of THE PROBLEM WITH SECOND CHANCES compared the old one with the people on the cover.⁣

But the same time, as pretty as it is, it’s also not the most… interesting.⁣
⁣
The title does more for marketing purposes than the cover - I’m a sucker for a good second chance romance.⁣
⁣

I got my copy of ONYX STORM!!⁣

On time! Even though I didn’t pay for release day shipping.⁣
⁣
I honestly can’t believe it.⁣
⁣
It’s so pretty, but it is kind of… warped? Hopefully, it’s just the extreme cold (it’s 18° F / -8° C here today) and not an issue with the binding.⁣
⁣
Honestly, I’m just happy I was able to get a copy of the deluxe edition.⁣
⁣
Waiting for it to be released gave me so much anxiety.⁣
⁣
To be fair, I’d probably be less stressed if I ordered from anywhere else besides Amazon who loves to randomly cancel pre-orders (and even ship the wrong edition!) but unfortunately, it was the only retailer selling the deluxe edition at my budget. ⁣
⁣
I generally try not to collect special or limited editions because a lot of times, it ends with me spending way too much time and money trying to collect them all.⁣
⁣
But I couldn’t resist the stained edges on FOURTH WING, and so now I give myself anxiety every time there’s a new release trying (and hoping) to complete my matching set.⁣
⁣
Meanwhile, I still haven’t started my reread of FOURTH WING… Maybe I should just review my notes?⁣
