QOTD: How was your weekend?⁣ ⁣ Happy Mid-Autum QOTD: How was your weekend?⁣
⁣
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!⁣
⁣
I spent my weekend with family and trying to make mooncakes.⁣
⁣
Mooncakes are kind of an interesting dessert (they’re like a weird mix of cake and cookie with a dense filling) and since I’ve been trying to get back into baking lately, it felt like the perfect time to finally try making them.⁣
⁣
What are some of your hobbies, besides reading?⁣

QOTD: When do you prefer to read?⁣ ⁣ For some QOTD: When do you prefer to read?⁣
⁣
For some reason, I prefer to read right before bed.⁣
⁣
And that always backfires on me and my sleep. 💀⁣
⁣
Do you tend to read more in the morning or at night?⁣

QOTD: How was your September?⁣ ⁣ September was QOTD: How was your September?⁣
⁣
September was a nice reset month for me. Summer was not the best so it was nice to kind of get back on track before the last few months of the year.⁣
⁣
Reading wise, my month was pretty average, but I’m currently reading two books. At once. Which is usually an indicator that my mood is either confused or I’m in a slump.⁣
⁣
What are you hoping to read in October?⁣

QOTD: What’s your last read of September?⁣ ⁣ QOTD: What’s your last read of September?⁣
⁣
I’m hoping mine will be History is All You Left Me, or really any other book on my physical tbr.⁣
⁣
I bought this back in 2017 when it was first released, met Adam Silvera at a signing and still haven’t read it. 🙈⁣
⁣
And my library has it available as an ebook, so I’m running out of excuses.⁣
⁣
One of my biggest goals this year was to read my own books and so far I’ve made zero progress.⁣
⁣
How are your reading goals going?⁣

QOTD: How do you decide what to read?⁣ ⁣ I usu QOTD: How do you decide what to read?⁣
⁣
I usually pick something that fits what I’m in the mood for based on the synopsis or cover.⁣
⁣
But if I don’t have any idea what I’m in the mood for, then I usually end up wasting time scrolling through my ebook libraries and then sampling books until something sticks.⁣
⁣
How do you organize your ebooks?⁣

QOTD: What’s your favorite warm drink?⁣ ⁣ My QOTD: What’s your favorite warm drink?⁣
⁣
My favorite by far is probably coffee, but I love a good cup of tea when it’s too late to have that much caffeine.⁣
⁣
I try not to make a cup right before reading, though.⁣
⁣
In my experience it’ll end one of two ways - either I spill the (hot) drink all over my book and myself, or I completely forget about the drink and it gets cold before I remember it.⁣
⁣
Basically, I always end up wasting perfectly good coffee or tea.⁣
⁣
And drinking while reading is hazardous for my poor books.⁣
⁣
Do you like to eat/drink while reading?⁣

QOTD: What’s your favorite season?⁣ ⁣ Mine i QOTD: What’s your favorite season?⁣
⁣
Mine is autumn because I love the fall colors and the vibes (cozy and festive without being too cold).⁣
⁣
But not going to lie, it kind of wins by default because I have issues with the other 3 seasons. Winter is too cold, summer is too hot, and I have terrible, terrible pollen allergies so spring is absolutely miserable for me. 😅⁣
⁣
Anyways, You Had Me at Hola is another books I’m hoping to read this fall. The colors on the covers just fit the fall aesthetic. But I honestly forget what it’s about - I’ve trying not to check synopsis lately since I feel like a lot of them set unfair expectations.⁣
⁣
Do you check the synopsis before reading a book?⁣
