And here I am asking for help (again). Lately I’ve been in a blogging slump. I’ve been feeling like blogging and writing posts are obligatory. And as a result, I think my content suffered. Before the first thing I would do after turning on my computer, was do blog stuff like check blog emails and comments and maybe write draft a few a post or two. But now, I don’t want to do any of that. At all. Blogging has started to become more of […]

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. It sounds like a really interesting mystery / thriller. Just my thing! 🙂 What are you waiting on?
Note: I wrote originally wrote this review before I read Never Fade and In the Afterlight, but as it is going up after I have read them both, I have updated the review a bit. Review: I loved reading The Darkest Minds so naturally I needed to read In Time while I waited impatiently to get my greedy hands on Never Fade. I really liked how Gabe developed throughout the story. It was nice to see him gradually change as the story progressed. Gabe is […]
I’ve always been interested in international and foreign editions of books. I think it just has something to everything that changes. Covers I think the cover is one of the most noticeable changes. You can pretty much tell if a book is a foreign edition by it’s cover. It’s always interesting to see how the cover changes from country to country. Why not use the same cover? I’m just going on a whim that when books are sold to foreign publishers (I’m assuming this happens […]
I need a lot of help. And before you ask, no not thant kind of help! I am perfectly mostly fine mentally… I need help regarding this blog’s name. My Blog Name Dilemma Honestly my blog name has kind of bothered me for a while. I don’t hate it, but I’m not completely happy with it either. I just want something more… special I guess. Icy Cold Reads sounds so generic and I feel like it’s really restricting. Like because of it, I can’t blog […]

BOOK HAUL: Borrowed from library: In the Afterlightby Alexandra Bracken I think the cover is… interesting. From what I can tell from Goodreads and Alexandra Bracken’s website, “Afterlight” is supposed to be one word. But the cover makes it look like […]
I’m seriously thinking of renaming this feature Rant of the Week… anyways let’s start off by defining “monster”… monster [mon-ster] noun 1. a legendary animal combining features of animal and human form or having the forms of various animals in combination, as a centaur, griffin, or sphinx. 2. any creature so ugly or monstrous as to frighten people. 3. any animal or human grotesquely deviating from the normal shape, behavior, or character. 4. a person who excites horror by wickedness, cruelty, etc. 5. any animal […]
Review: I really really enjoyed reading The Darkest Minds. It felt like a breath of fresh air. It was a bit different from everything else I’ve ever read. This book surprised me in so many different good ways. One of the best things about The Darkest Minds is the characters. I loved the characters Ruby meets in this story and how they all are different and bring different perspectives to the story. I also loved the friendships and relationships that developed. Zu, the little kid […]
