I decided to change things up and try out monthly recaps instead of weekly ones. I don’t know how it’ll go and I’ll miss participating in some of the memes weekly recaps have but I wanted to try it out. In case you haven’t noticed things around here have been… lacking. And this time, I don’t even have blogging burnout to blame. Nope, this time, my poor time management skills are the culprit. As March approaches things are only going to get crazier and I […]
Month: February 2016
I’m a bit crazy about going to author events and signings. Okay, fine, I admit I’m more than a bit crazy. I’m obsessed. I love going to author events. Even when I have no idea who the author featured is, or what he/she wrote, as long as it’s in my genre and I’m free (and I have parent permission because unfortunately months away from my 18th birthday, I still need them to give me rides), you can bet I’ll be there… Assuming it’s not taking […]
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. Sherlock Holmes spin off-ish? Mystery? Romance? Check. Check. Check! Count me in! This book sounds so promising. What are you waiting on?
Review: What did I just read? I mean that in a good way. Never Fade blew me away. It is definitely one of the best sequels I’ve ever read. Needless to say, the Darkest Minds trilogy did not experience the horrors of Second Book Syndrome. Like The Darkest Minds, one thing that stood out in Never Fade is the character development and the relationships that develop between characters. I especially enjoyed reading about the friendship of Ruby and Chubs. I love how their relationship is […]
As Valentine’s Day is getting closer and closer, I’ve picked out a few books you can date if you don’t already have a human one. If you do, no worries, I’m sure neither partner will mind. 😉 Today matchmaking is hinging on song lyrics! Please don’t judge my taste in music. I don’t know why, but I was weirdly in a pop mood when I first came up with this post. To find out your match, once you find a song and description you like, […]
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. Ohh time travel. Those are always fun to read. I love how they usually combine history with morals and romance. 🙂 What are you waiting on?
Yo, it’s Cupid here. Valentine’s Day is next week which means it’s time for me to dig up my arrows and shoot some people with them. To make them, you know, fall in love and all that. Last year, I tried to get Emz to play matchmaker. It went pretty well but she lacks the magic touch I have. Cuz, you know, my mom is the goddess of love… And I’m pretty awes- Ignore Cupid guys. Not only is he sometimes a narcissistic fool, but […]
Today is the first official day of Lunar New Year, more commonly known as Chinese New Year (although many other East Asian countries like Korea and historically Japan celebrate it too). As a Chinese/Taiwanese American, this is a very special holiday to me. I would even say that it means more to me than Christmas (especially since I’m an atheist). To celebrate, I want to take a look at a few characters that would probably celebrate this holiday too. So in no particular order… Wait! […]
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. I loved reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore, which I loved reading. I also loved reading another one of Sophie Jordan’s books, Uninvited, so I’m definitely looking forward to reading this one. What are you waiting on?
One of the worst things about loving to read is not the judgemental looks or stereotypes it brings, but rather the fact that is a time-consuming hobby. You cannot read a book in five minutes. (Or at least, I can’t). With everything else you have to do in life, it always feels like there’s never enough time in a day. So my question for you today is do you make reading a priority? Do you find time to read no matter what else is on […]
