Crossovers, to me, do not refer to the books that appeal both to teens and adults. To me, crossovers are books that merge two books, usually two series, together in one. Crossovers are the books where two different worlds collide and meet. For the longest time, I though crossovers only existed in fanfiction. If I wanted to read a crossover between two of my favorite series, I would search FanFiction.net, not Goodreads. But official crossovers are becoming more common these days. At least ones between […]

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. This sounds really interesting. Costume shop, hidden world, an adventure?!? Count me in! What are you waiting on?
Whenever I get the chance courage to ask authors a question about their book(s), I always want to know how did they come up with the names of their characters. I suck at naming things. When I was younger, I won some goldfish at a carnival. My mom wanted to know what I wanted to name them. Instead of coming up with some nice creative or pretty name, do you know what I named them? Fish 1, Fish 2, Fish 3, etc. Yeah. I was […]
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. I have decided to try to participate in all of their memes with only one post…thus Weekly Recap. I used to call this feature The Sunday Post – Stacking the Shelves but that title was too long… Life This week felt super long and ever ending to me. Probably because it’s my first full week of school in three weeks and I had […]
Review: This Night So Dark is a novella that comes after These Broken Stars. It’s pretty much about one of Tarver’s experiences in the army. If you haven’t read it and love the series, it’s definitely worth a read (it’s a free ebook!). Just as a side not: chronologically, the novella takes place after the first book (sort of…), but I read This Shattered World, the second book in the series, before reading this. I really liked how the story was told. It was told […]
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. I loved reading the first two books in the Starbound series, These Broken Stars and This Shattered World, so I really can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of Their Fractured Light. I need to know what happens to all my favorite characters and how the saga ends! What are you waiting on?
Last week I had the pleasure of seeing Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff at an author event at my local Barnes & Noble. They were visiting the States from Australia to promote their new book, Illuminae which came out a few weeks ago. They talked about the book and the process in which it was created. Claire Legrand made a surprise appearance (she wasn’t scheduled to come according to the B&N website) to act as the moderator. Note: This recap is probably going to be […]

Review: These Broken Stars is now one of my all-time favorite science fiction books dealing with space and aliens. I really liked how it was done as well as all the twists that came along which really surprised me since in the beginning it seemed like a cliche fantasy novel, but over time, it proved me wrong. These Broken Stars is definitely a more character driven novel. Besides the first and last quarter of the book, the plot is a bit… lacking (aka nothing much […]
How important are your social media usernames? This is a question I have asked myself constantly throughout my blogging “career”. It’s pretty common knowledge that social media is very useful when it comes to gaining readers and sharing posts. Does your username effect how effective you are at publicizing yourself on social media? The Long Story When I first starting blogging, I looked up how to be a better blogger because well, I wanted to know how to be a better blogger. All of the […]
