I have decided to try to participate in all of their memes with only one post…thus Weekly Recap. I used to call this feature The Sunday Post – Stacking the Shelves but that title was too long…
Friday the 13th was a horrible day. Not for me, but for so so many people around the world. My heart goes out to anyone in Paris and Lebanon, as well as anyone who has loved ones there, and to anyone who has to face the threat of violence on any given day. I think sometimes it’s just so easy for people to say something like #PrayforParis online and just carry on with their lives because we live so far away. But while those words have meaning, they won’t actually mean something unless we put them into effect.
We don’t just have to pray for those people trapped in a world of violence, we, as human beings, have to learn tolerance and respect for others who are different and have different opinions and beliefs than us. We have to learn that violence is not the answer to solve whatever injustices we feel we face. Violence should not be used to send any type of message. We must remember that at the end of the day, no matter where we’re from, what we believe, the color of our skin, or our own personalities, we are all human beings who deserve be treated equally and with kindness and respect.
Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff stopped by my local Barnes & Noble for an event/signing so that’s why I got so many of their books lately. As for The Fixer, I borrowed it from the library a while ago and really loved reading it. I loved it so much I just needed to have my own copy. Plus, the cover is so pretty…

This was not the best week for me either. That being said, I’m tired of always focusing on the negative side. The good parts about this week was that I had Wednesday off from school, which is always nice, and I got to meet Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff! I will be writing up a little recap of that event which will go up sometime next week, so keep an eye out for it. 🙂
How was your week?
Enjoy your books!
