Borrowed from library:
Asylum
by Madeleine Roux
I just found out that a few HaperCollins authors will be part of a panel at my local B&N. So of course, I looked up all the authors and decided to give their books a try. Madeleine Roux just happened to be one of those authors. I heard Asylum was a bit creepy and I’m not really a fan of creepy stuff so we’ll see how it goes.

This week was my first full week of school and it was TORTURE. I kind of forgot what it was like to have to do homework. I also forgot what it was like to have to wake up before 7 o’clock every morning… That was basically my week. I’m really really sorry if I still haven’t responded to comments but I’ve been really busy. I promise I will work on that, though! 🙂
How was your week?
Enjoy your books!
That cover is very impressive, I hope the book is as good as it looks 😉
If you are talking about how creepy it is, than yes, the book looks as creepy as it is. (And I’m only on the first few pages).
Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
I usually get up before 7am, but I’ve had a sleep-in week myself and now that I’m trying to get back into routine…ughhh. It’s HARD. 7am is such a sleepy part of the day. 😉 Good luck abandoning your bed! 😛
I really liked Asylum. It’s pretty similar to Miss Peregrine’s, but I actually think Asylum is better. My Stacking the Shelves!
If only my bed wasn’t so comfy… it’s even worse with the colder months coming up. I’m glad you liked Asylum… but please tell me it’s not as creepy as it looks!
Thanks for stopping by Cait! 🙂
I have such a love/hate relationship with creepy books and movies. I always enjoy them, but usually wind up having nightmares because I have a ridiculously overactive imagination. I hope it’s enjoyable though!
My StS!
I know what you mean. If only there weren’t such things as nightmares… (No seriously, I think they are the main reason why creepy things… creep me out).
Thanks for stopping by Kim! 🙂
Oooo…this looks good. I have seen it around. Though it looks spooky and I’m not much for spooky! Enjoy! My STS
Those were my thoughts exactly! The cover looks really cool, but it gives me the creeps.
Thanks for stopping by Brooke! 🙂
Hope you enjoy Asylum! I get freaked out by stuff very easily, so I tend to steer away from all horror books! 😛
Kyra @ Blog of a Bookaholic
My STS Post!
Me too, but I’m trying… sort of. If I end up DNFing this book, it’ll probably be because it got too creepy for me more than anything else.
Thanks for stopping by Kyra! 🙂
I haven’t read Asylum but there was some reasonable hype about it. Unlike you, I actually love creepy stuff so I’m going to go check it out. It’s somewhere on my TBR but idk where.
Please check out my haul (and leave a comment?), here!
– Nova @ Out of Time
Haha, books get lost in my TBR pile all the time too. It’s a good thing it’s not a physical list because if it was, it would probably be miles long.
Thanks for stopping by Nova! 🙂
Good luck with the creepy book! I used to think I’d be way creeped out by creepy books, but I normally manage okay. Hope you enjoy it — but hey, if you don’t, don’t keep creeping yourself out if you don’t find that fun.
I usually manage okay too. But usually how you can tell the really good books apart from the okay ones is that the really good ones can creep you out a lot more. And yes, there probably is going to be a high chance that I DNF this one (unfortunately).
Thanks for stopping by Nikki! 🙂
I’ve been seeing Asylum all over the place recently. I may have to give it a try because it sounds really interesting and I love the cover. Hope you have a good week!!
Asylum is riding the publicity of it’s sequel, which I believe is coming out soon, if not already published. I heard a lot of good things about it, but also that it can get really creepy.
Thanks for stopping by Beth! 🙂
Great cover. Hope it is as good as it looks. Happy reading.
The cover is pretty good, but I hope it isn’t as creepy as it looks…
Thanks for stopping by Sherry! 🙂
I’ve heard mixed things about Asylum so haven’t picked I up yet, but ugh, school. I do not miss it. At all. 😉
Lucky you. Going to school is definitely not (usually) the highlight of my day.
Thanks for stopping by Kirsty-Marie! 🙂
Asylum definitely wins the prize for creepiest cover. I like creepy books when they are well done but if they’re not they can just seem silly. Hope you enjoy it if you decide to read it! Good luck with school – hope you adjust to the hour and the homework!
So far, the cover is proving to be an accurate portrayal of Asylum. I’m starting to think it is as creepy as it looks (if not more). o.o Thanks for the luck, I definitely need it to get through waking up early and having to do schoolwork at home. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Katherine! 🙂
Asylum looks awesome! I will have to check it out!
Missie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
So far, like the first five chapters, it’s as creepy as it looks so…
Thanks for stopping by Missie! 🙂
I know what you mean, starting school again. I have been having to prioritize school, blogging, and homework. I hope you have an amazing week!! Happy Sunday 🙂
Sunday Post
Prioritizing is definitely not one of my areas of expertise. I hope you have better luck juggling all three than I do! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Kat! 🙂
Oh I know what you mean. I’m not a big fan of horror novels especially ones that involve ghosts, but I’m hoping to get over it soon. That cover is creepy isn’t it?
Yes, that cover is really creepy! And I don’t like ghosts either so if I DNF…
Thanks for stopping by Giselle! 🙂
Oh lord! That cover is creepy. It actually reminds me of this horror film that I used to own. It was about children that died in a mine and was part of the After Dark horror fest collection. I could never sleep unless the book was turned so I couldn’t see it’s cover.
I hope you enjoy that panel. It’s so much fun when you get to meet authors.
Here’s my Stacking the Shelves post if you’re interested.
I just followed you on bloglovin and I really hope you decide to write about that panel if you go!
Rebecca @ Vicariously!
I will totally write about that panel… if my lets me go (aka if I finish all my homework…) I don’t generally like horror stuff so we’ll see how Asylum goes.
Thanks so much for following and for stopping by Rebecca! 🙂 🙂
I have Asylum on my kindle but have yet to get around to reading it. I hope you enjoy it. Happy Reading!
Here are my newest additions.
It’s definitely worth a read if you’re into horror books / movies. If you’re not then…
Thanks for stopping by Jamie! 🙂
I want to read ‘Asylum’ too because it looks awesome. Happy reading! 🙂
It does look awesome doesn’t it. A bit creepy too… just a bit.
Thanks for stopping by Crina! 🙂
