I’m still trying to get back into blogging. I’ve been really busy lately – the third quarter of the school year is ending in two weeks, so teachers are trying to cram everything in, especially since we had a couple of snow days. Because of this last minute rush for more grades, I’m always extra stressed during this time, but on Thursday, I went to a book signing at my local Barnes and Noble.
The two authors there just happened to be two of my favorite authors – Gayle Forman and Lauren Oliver! I just had to go… even though I had a math test that I really should have been studying for. Anyways, I “forgot” to tell my mom about the test and she agreed to take me. 🙂 That’s not even the best part. So after floating on Cloud 9 for a couple of hours, after the signing I had to rush home to study for the test… which I did for like 20 minutes before I went to bed. But guess what? Even though Friday was the first day of Spring, the weather decided that Winter needed to go out with a bang… that bang included 1-3 inches of snow. And because of the predicted forecast, we had a “half day” at school and my math test was postponed until Monday! 😀
Clockwise from the upper left hand corner: Vanishing Girls in all its glory, my two signed Lauren Oliver books (Vanishing Girls and Pandemonium, Lauren and Gayle doing a really dramatic (and hilarious reading of a passage from Vanishing Girls (they did one for I Was Here, which was equally as entertaining), my four signed Gayle Forman books (I Was Here, my two different editions of If I Stay and Where She Went).
How was your week?
Enjoy your books!
YAY for signed books! I really enjoyed Vanishing Girls, it was a really good mystery!

YAY! I love Oliver! I’ve met her a few times, she’s really great. I am reading Vanishing Girls now and I’m liking it. I really want to meet Gayle Forman!!! Enjoy your books! My STS
I know, she’s hilarious. Gayle Forman was awesome with her too. They kept “bickering”, it was so funny.
Thanks for stopping by Brooke! 😀
I haven’t read any Lauren Oliver yet, but I really want to! I want to try and pick up Vanishing Girls and see how I like her writing!
-Monica @ Tomes Project
You should definitely give at least one of her books a try. I haven’t read Vanishing Girls yet, but I loved her writing in Before I Fall and in Delirium.
Thanks for stopping by and following Monica! 🙂
I love Gayle!!! Glad you got to meet her

Sounds like it was meant to be. Those lovely signed books will give you something to do over your chilly weekend. I spent yesterday working in my gardens and was looking forward to spending time finishing up today. Our last blast of winter arrived overnight and is dropped the temp into the 60s along with inches of rain. This should be the end of winter for us.

Lucky you. It’s still around the 40s where I live. Have fun gardening though! What are you growing?

Thanks for stopping by Megan! 🙂
What an exciting book signing! Definitely jealous. I live in Wisconsin so of course no one that I find personally interesting every comes here. So incredible that you got to meet Gayle Forman!!
Aw, you never know. That’s what I thought about living here a few years ago, but now we occasionally get cool authors to come and visit.
Thanks for stopping by Zoey! 🙂
Awesome stack this week! Check out my STS? http://bundles-of-books.blogspot.com/2015/03/stacking-shelves-7.html
Thanks for stopping by Sam! 🙂
This is a pretty great book haul! 😛
The last book signing I went to was for Richelle Mead, and I only went because my friends wanted their books signed. I’m not a fan of hers (I’ve never read the books), but it was still fun. People brought practically ALL of her books to be signed but it was really lame because she would only personalize one hardcover. I could tell a lot of people were disappointed. :/
Now THAT is a signing! Wow. And talk about lucky on that test….Don’t ever complain about snow again. 😉
Good luck with the rest of the school term. It’s nearly exam time here, and my daughter is going through much the same. Just make sure you take time to relax yeah? And don’t sweat it about the blogging…It’ll all be here when you’re done xx
Have a great week x
You got to meet a couple of cool authors! Very jealous! Hope you continue to be able to get back into blogging, although I know how busy it can be with school.
