Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish. This week’s topic is the Top Ten 2016 Releases You Meant to Read But Didn’t Get To (But TOTALLY Plan To).
Unfortunately for me, not having the time to read a book I wanted to is pretty much the story of my life. I actually have quite a few 2016 releases I wanted to read last year but couldn’t find the time. What makes this even sadder is that I own signed copies of five of them, own two more, and have the ARC for another two. I really have no excuse for not finding/making the time to read them. But college so you know…
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
I loved her other series, The Darkest Minds so I was really excited to read Passenger. It doesn’t hurt that the cover is gorgeous.
Truthwitch by Susan Dennard
I actually managed to read a few chapters before I had to read Truthwitch to the library. I keep meaning to borrow it again but that hasn’t happened. Yet.
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
I got to meet Morgan Matson back in May and get my copy of The Unexpected Everything signed. Too bad that wasn’t able to motivate me to read it. Sigh.
Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige
Maybe I’ll actually read it now that I’ve witnessed the first snowfall of the year and season. It is certainly cold enough for me to want someone to steal the snow.
Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
I probably should read this one soon – I keep getting asked what I think of it. And I’m just like “I don’t know, it’s kind of hard to have an opinion of a book you spend more time admiring its cover than reading its pages”.
Replica by Lauren Oliver
I had the pleasure of getting to meet Lauren Oliver for the second time in October. Still haven’t read her newest release even though she signed it. What am I doing with my life? Oh, right school. -_-
Something in Between by Melissa de la Cruz
I was really excited to read this especially with all the election drama going on. But now, a few months later, it’s still on my TBR list and not my “read” one. 🙁
The Row by J. R. Johansson
I’m really ashamed this one made it onto this list. I was approved to read its eARC on NetGalley but could not find the time. I wasn’t able to get to it before my summer break ended and after that, school was a black hole eating up all my time.
Scythe by Neal Shusterman
Another ARC that I had, but couldn’t get to read. Fortunately, it wasn’t one I got from NetGalley so there was less of an obligation to read it. But still, I wish I could have done my part to help promote this book, especially since I loved Unwind.
Die for You by Amy Fellner Dominy
I won Die for You from a giveaway on Twitter. Unfortunately, the timing was off – I received it a week or two before Thanksgiving and between midterms, mandatory family time, studying for finals, and taking finals, I didn’t have time to read Die for You.
What about you?
What 2016 releases do you still want to read?
