My August was weirdly busy.⁣
⁣
And it doesn’t help that I got into a slump in the middle of the month - I currently have three books “on hold” or rather in my "to be finished" pile. Hence why Storygraph says I read 1,000+ pages even though the two books I finished only have 650 pages total.⁣
⁣
I’m currently deciding if I want to “officially” DNF or just keep them on hold, along with the SIX other books I haven't finished from earlier this year. 🙈⁣

I went to my local library for the first time in 5 years and picked up most of the books in the Psy-Changeling Trinity series.⁣
⁣
I would prefer the ebook copies (more convenient) and also to borrow the whole series (I like to binge read series), but my library didn’t have them available. 😭⁣
⁣
And then, as luck would I have it, I found LAST GUARD at Dollar Tree while I was running errands. I’m supposed to be on a book buying ban, but I believe in fate so I HAD to pick it up.⁣

And of course, I also love found families.⁣

I’m hoping to finally read SPIN THE DAWN soon!⁣

I actually got it as a NetGalley ARC back into 2019 and pre-ordered a copy because I was convinced I would like it - I love reading Mulan retellings.⁣

But life happened and I just never got around to it. 🙈⁣

One of my reading goals for this year is to read a couple of books from my physical TBR. And of course, it’s the only reading goal I haven’t made any progress on. 😅⁣

For some reason, I almost always end up using a (clean) tissue or a receipt, even though I have probably hundreds of actual bookmarks I could use instead.⁣

I’d love to visit Paris someday. I think it’d be fun to be able to say I’m an Emily in Paris. 😅⁣

Bad jokes aside, is the show any good? I’ve been meaning to watch it but I have a weird aversion to watching/reading things with main characters named Emily.⁣

I guess it’s because it’s usually harder for me to buy into the story with my name being mentioned so often. I always feel like I’m being called out personally, even though I know they’re not talking about me specifically. And also because of that, any second hand embarrassment hits harder. 🤷🏻‍♀️⁣

QOTD: Do you prefer duologies, trilogies, or something else?

I used to prefer shorter series, but since I’ve been mainly reading backlist titles lately, I don’t really have a favorite series length.

Really my only requirement is that the whole series is already published.

Otherwise, I might never finish reading it.

What can I say? I prefer binging my series.

Do you prefer binge reading series or would you rather read them as they are published?
