My blogoversary is coming up soon, so I decided to go through some of my old posts. I found these two posts I did on Halloween costumes based on books (Halloween Costume #1 Artemis and Halloween Costume #2 Max Ride). And since I don’t really have anything planned for this month, I thought I could continue this series. I recently went to meet Ally Carter while she was on tour, so I thought why not do one for the Gallagher Girls? So voila. Halloween Costume #3 – Gallagher Girls.
THE BACKGROUND
The Gallagher Girls is a series focused on Cammie and her friends who just happen to go the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women. Now Gallagher isn’t your normal, everyday school. Sure, it’s a private school, entry by invitation only with some exceptions, but that’s not all that sets Gallagher apart. The Gallagher Academy is a school for spies. Yes, you read that right. SPIES. Female spies in training. (The guys go to a different school known as Blackthorne).
But it’s also a private school. And like a lot of private schools, the Gallagher Academy has uniforms. And from the covers and the descriptions in from the book, the uniforms consist of a white collar shirt, a sweater, and a plaid skirt.
MATERIALS/CLOTHING NEEDED
I just described the uniforms at Gallagher. So guess what you need? A white collar shirt, a sweater, and a plaid skirt that preferably matches the sweater. And for an added bonus, you can find a picture of the Gallagher Academy crest online, cut it out, and tape it to your sweater. What more details? Pick a cover from above and dress like her. The colors don’t have to necessarily match. For example, first put together your uniform. Then if you want to dress up like the girl in Only the Good Spy Young, wear a trench coat and carry an umbrella. Want to make your costume even more special? Got any spy gear? You can try to incorporate that into your costume. Or bring binoculars or sunglasses. You can even take a pair of earbuds, preferably black ones, and stick one of them in your ear. Hide the other and try to “conceal” the other. Make it seem like you are listening to someone on a coms unit while you can actually listen to music. Don’t know what I’m talking about? YES!! That is such a cool costume!! And it sounds so easy!!!
One year me and my brother were pretending to be spies so my took my moms car charger for her cell phone and wore all black with sunglasses…. Wearing sunglasses at night is soooo not a good plan! Lol!
If I go trick or treating this year, I am so stealing this idea!! 🙂
This would be a fun Halloween costume! I already know what I’m going as, but this would be really neat to dress like this! It would be neat to see pictures of people who actually do dress like this for Halloween! 🙂
This is so creative! We do a Halloween promotion every year, October’s Month of the Macabre, and we feature a lot of book-inspired Halloween costumes. This is totally perfect, I never thought of these!
