6 books I'd slay a lion to get early

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is “best books I’ve read in 2018 (so far)” or a throwback topic. Because I haven’t exactly read a lot of really good books this year, I decided to go the throwback route and discuss some books I’d give my arm (figuratively speaking) to get early.

The Darkest Legacy by Alexandra Bracken

Expected Pub Date: July 31, 2018

This is a spin-off novel to my favorite series ever, The Darkest Minds. Obviously, I’d love to be able to read it early. Good thing I only have to wait a few more weeks for my pre-ordered copy to arrive!

The Wicked King by Holly Black

Expected Pub Date: January 8, 2019

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of The Cruel Prince so I’ve already been waiting for its sequel for a while already. I NEED IT SO BADLY!! But maybe it’s a good thing. Cause if I get it early, then the wait for the next book will be even longer – I’m pretty sure The Wicked King is going to have another shocking ending.

The Andromeda Cycle #1 by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Expected Pub Date: March 2019

I love this duo so of course, I’m excited for their new series, whatever its name is!

Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff

Expected Pub Date: September 3, 2019

When I heard Darkdawn‘s release date was being pushed back a year, I was so disappointed. I was so looking forward to finishing the Nevernight Chronicles this fall! I just hope none of my favorite characters die. Oh wait, this is a Jay Kristoff book. That hope is pointless. Someone I love is probably definitely going to die.

Vampire Academy spin-off #1 by Richelle Mead

When I got to see Richelle on tour a few weeks ago, she mentioned that she was in the process of planning a VA spin-off from Rose and a few other younger character’s points of view. I need this new series so badly! VA is one of my favorite cures to reading slumps!

Heist Society #4 by Ally Carter

Ally mentioned a few times that she’d love to write another Heist Society book once she has the time to. As one of my favorite series, I really hope that time comes sooner rather than later.
