I have a love hate relationship with social media. I love it because it’s really fun and interesting. It never gets boring. I hate it because I’m easily distracted and social media is very distracting.
I think I use Twitter the most to promote my blog. Pretty much because it’s the really the one that helps me get more pageviews. Even though my Facebook page has more followers (or likes), it doesn’t really get as many hits. And I still need to figure out a more productive way to promote my blog on Instagram (I have the most followers there than all other social media sites).
If I’m being honest, I suck at using social media as a promotional tool. I mainly use it to interact with other people, usually bookworms. It’s probably because I suck at self promotion in general, but also because I’m more interested in doing other things on social media (like virtually stalking people) than promoting my blog even though it should be the other way around. I just have a hard time putting myself out there.
I think I’m most active overall on Instagram. Between spending time to take photos to post, editing them, and liking other pictures, I’m more invested in (on?) Instagram. I just like it better – I like taking pics. I like Twitter too, but Twitter is really distracting for me. Maybe it’s because I follow more people on Twitter, or whatever, but my feed keeps moving and thus I keep losing focus. Also Instagram is pretty useless on a computer while Twitter is still fully functional and I do most of my work on a computer…
How do you use social media?
Which platforms do you use the most?
How do you promote your blogs/posts on Instagram?
I would love to know how to use Twitter better. There is always something interesting going on there, but I’m usually late to the party and don’t know how to jump in; instead, I sit on the sidelines and listen in on the conversations.

You sound just like me! I’m really bad at using social media to promote my blog … something I need to work on!
Yes! The distraction of social media can be a problem. I often find something on twitter and I go off to look at it and it snowballs. Before I know it I blew off an hour or more.
