2015 Blogging Resolutions & Challenges

Posted December 31, 2014 by Emily in blog challenges / 4 Comments

Today marks the last day of 2014 and thus it is time for some New Year resolutions.

This year I want to…

Make more blogging friends. I was kind of selfish and self absorbed this year and really only focused on my own blog and not others. It doesn’t help that I’m naturally shy and usually not the one to make the first move in a friendship.

Read and review more books. This year I kind of slacked off on doing both of them. Hopefully I can read more than 50 books in 2015 (at least one a week) and review at least a half of them on the blog (50% of the books I read, hopefully).

Speaking of reviews… I want to get more organized and post reviews (or snippets of them) elsewhere on the internet besides my blog. It seems like everyone posts their reviews on Goodreads and Amazon and other sites. Me… er, I didn’t. Whoops.

Be more active on social media. This one kind of goes with the first resolution but to be honest, on Twitter (and other sites) I’m more of a lurker. Seriously, I’ll be on Twitter for 20 minutes and do nothing but read through my feed. Hopefully this year I can find the guts to start more conversations (or at least contribute to one).

Comment, comment, comment. I’m horrible at commenting. Absolutely horrible. I’m terrible at replying to comments. And I’m terrible at commenting on other people’s blogs. It just takes sooo long! But something I like doing… when I have the time. Time to rearrange my schedule I guess.

Schedule posts ahead of time. One of my biggest problems. When I don’t have posts scheduled I’m staying up late(r) to write one. And it usually ends up a mess. Why I do this, I don’t know. THE PRESSURE. But when I do schedule posts I always, for some reason, get the fudge you mentality. Deal with that female dogs! And then not do anything related until I realize, oh shoot, I don’t have anymore posts scheduled. Yeah, this is a HUGE problem I need to work on.

Work on my secret project. And no, it’s not the blog name change. (That’s no longer a secret… I think). Hopefully people will be interested enough in it that it can run. And hopefully people in the blogoshere are tolerant people who don’t judge others.

There’s probably more but…

2015 Blogging Challenges

I decided not to do any reading challenges this year in 2015 mainly because well to put it frankly, I suck at doing challenges. Seriously, I cannot think of a reading challenge that I have actually stuck to from start to finish. None in the two years I’ve been blogging. So no reading challenges for me but blogging challenges instead. Because I could really use something to get me to improve this blog. Hopefully I can stick to them better than I can stick to reading challenges…

  1. I only just started taking part in reading challenges myself last year, and somehow I’ve now ended up as a host (well kind of…our challenge is a Bookish Resolutions Challenge!) If you want to make more blogging friends you should definitely check out COYER (Clean Out Your E-Reader), even while the challenge isn’t taking place we’re chatting away in our fb group 🙂
